Planning Your Vacation To Atlantic City
Bader Field finally features a festive look following years of neglect as the Dave Matthews Band Caravan members move into action here in Atlantic City. Local residents are overjoyed to see the defunct airport receiving a complete transformation to create room for the big event that will last three days here before going on to other places. This place was untouched for some time until recently and it had turned into an illegal dump of sorts over the period, in accordance with a report on the Press of Atlantic City website.
Sprucing Up the Site
A lot of work went into getting Bader Field ready for the band but it was well worth the effort. The majority of the work was accomplished by the Public Works Department here. As early as February of this year when the event was approved, laborers commenced clearing up more than 300 tons of trash that had gathered here. After weeding the site, eliminating the destroyed barbed wire fencing and cutting back the overgrown bushes, the Department has definitely improved the once unattractive Braden Fields into a level open ground that is ideal for holding these kinds of functions. The ground was regraded and landscaped as well in an effort to create a great impression of Atlantic City, according to the article.
About the Dave Matthews Band
Authorities are hoping that the Dave Matthews Band Caravan will give the site some much needed positive publicity and that this will help Atlantic City tourism also. Looking at the gigantic Ferris wheel, the tents arranged for shops and beer tasting counters, it is obvious that no effort has been spared to entice tourists to the event. The group is making its first stop of four here in Braden field and the kind of reception it gets here is very important to the performers. As stated by Starr Hill, the promoters of the concert, about 2000 individuals will be involved in the event when it actually takes off this week. Three dozen artists will be performing on three different stages set up here by the promoter. Food, fun and music- it will all be here for local people along with guests to enjoy at the Braden Field when the Band Caravan event starts. The Public Works department is planning to present the Braden Fields area as a good area for upcoming events too. This may draw more tourist interest to Atlantic City, they hope. They have already accomplished some degree of success in repurposing Sandcastle Stadium and finalizing the Atlantic City Summerfest here on July 2nd.
