Terrapins Devils
Dunk, Pitch And Swim
So far we have talked in detail about college football and to a lesser degree college basketball. We now pick up the series with history of legacies.
We all know the big football programs, there are also many other great programs that have a rich lush history. NCAA Basketball is fmaous for several of these. At the top of the list are the UCLA Bruins. Far and away the best, the boast a record setting 11 championships. In fact, 10 of those came between 1964 and 1975 while under the coaching of the now legendary John Wooden. At online army education you can earn a degree you will love.
Kentucky is second with seven titles. As for the conference with the most wins, that would the ACC. What the SEC is to football they are to basketball. They have consistently been the most dominant conference with a total of 12 champions coming from their conference. Five from the North Carolina Tar Heels, four from the Duke Blue Devils, 2 from the North Carolina State Wolfpack and 1 from the Maryland Terrapins. That alone shows how impressive UCLA’s run was.
What about women’s basketball? If you enjoy it then you will know of the University of Tennesse who has 8 championships. The University of Connecticut, or UCONN, is next with 7 wins to their school. You would have to go all the way down to 2 wins for the next most wins, with Louisiana Tech, Stanford and USC tied at that spot. Are you or have you been in the service? If so come to air force education to continue your education today.
Don’t forget about the great sport of baseball. The College World Series is one of the older tournaments dating back to 1947. Since then there have been certain teams that stand out. The team with the most championships is the University of Southern California with 21 appearances and 12 titles. The under performing Longhorns of the University of Texas have 6 wins in 34 tries. If you think that is bad, check Florida State which has been 20 times but never won. Louisana State, the University of Miami, Cal Stat Fullerton and Arizona State have also had successful teams.
How about something more exotic like swimming or diving? Tied at 11 titles each are the Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeyes. West coasts fans can cheer for Stanford who has 8 or if you are in the South try Auburn with 8 or Texas with 9. Come to online navy education for a great education today.
Given the examples, there are tons of sports out there. We have even touched on tennis, Women’s softball, wrestling, track and field or hockey.
These are only a few of the sprots that go to make NCAA such an exciting program.
